Hip Hop meets Madison Ave.

I don't know if any of you guys have seen the new Taco Bell commercial where two white boys rap about tacos being on 89 cents and had all the hip hop cliches from the over sized jewelry, girls, etc. After that commercial was over with I said to myself that while hip hop music has been used to push almost every product under the sun this commercial made the genre and art form more slapstick. Madison Ave. looks at using hip hop music as a way to create a new niche market/demographic so that they can exploit them for monetary gain case in point Run D.M.C./ Adidas and the list goes on and on. Everyone was hating on MC Hammer back in the early 90's for doing commercials for Pepsi, British Knights, KFC, etc but in all actually hip hop was deemed safe for Johnny in the 'burbs to listen because of MC Hammer. Long story short Madison Ave. has been eatin' good off of the hip hop communities dollars for years but still some of the companies don't even kick back the money that they make to help enrich the community at large. Now being able to balance commercialism with intelligence would be ever so proper.
