Make your blog unique by using different colors for your background that hasn't been used before, talk about issues that have never been talked about in the blogosphere before, etc. The main point that I'm making is dare to be different and don't be afraid to stand out and stand up for what you think your blog should be.

Laugh Of The Day

Here is a throwback laugh from the show America's Funniest People.

Mass Consumption Of Music

Is it true of the old saying too much is never enough? Well in the music business there is. You see when a particular genre of music gets hot then the record labels and media outlets force feeds it down your throat til the point that you are regurgitating lyrics left and right. Any form of business is motivated by the almighty dollar and the best way to maximize your bottom line is to overkill a certain thing. You can look at some sub genres of music such as Disco, Rap, and Grunge as prime examples of this but the reason why Rap is still here is because unlike Disco and Grunge you have other lanes you can get into if you don't like a particular artist. When something is being forced upon you,no matter how much you get sick of it it is always in your face. That is why it is so important to have a balance in music because you have room to listen to other things besides the same songs you hear every hr. on the hr. But too much is never enough in the music business because once you are not in the public eye you will be quickly tuned out.

During my final semester of undergrad at The University Of North Carolina at Greensboro I took a class called Development Of Digital Media and throughout the class I came to the realization that most of the analog forms of media are being viewed as yesterday's news the further we get into the digital age. For the final project we had to build our own webpage from scratch (manually putting in HTML and CSS codes along with anything else we wanted to add) which for someone like myself who isn't savvy when it comes to the technical aspect of computer coding. After the website was done I was proud of it and knew that building your own website along with blogging, podcasting, etc is the new form of media and learning how to build your own website is the way to survive in this media concrete jungle.

Last wk. I asked you what was your favorite movie soundtrack of all time and so far no one has answered. So I've decided to go ahead and tell you my fav. soundtrack of all time and it is the Purple Rain soundtrack. Throwback Joint Of The Day

One of my fav. hip hop tracks from the mid 90's. This rap group out of Philly had bangers such as Hip Hop Ride, Pass Da Mic, Iz U With Me, and Crewz Pop. They debuted around the same time Kriss Kross did and therefore didn't get the same push from their record label. This remix samples Nite and Day by Al B. Sure. Here are Da Youngsta's with I'll Make U Famous (Remix).

Laugh Of The Day

This is why I don't get super competitive while playing video games.

Gosepl Sunday

Here is another day's edition of Gospel Sunday. This group out of Detroit,MI paved the way for future male gospel groups with hits such as Tomorrow, Question Is, Payday, etc. In 1990 they hooked up with producer Teddy Riley and together gave the gospel sound a more urban flavor. Here are The Winans doing a portion of A Friend live in concert.

Throwback Joint Of The Day

All I have to say about this joint was that it signaled New York's return to hip hop dominance in the mid 90's and introduced us to one of the best rappers of all time. Here is The Notorious B.I.G. (R.I.P.) in Big Poppa.

Laugh Of The Day

Never come between a boy and his noodles.

Lil Wayne

I'm sure you guys already know about Lil Wayne and him serving a yr. in jail(although they expect him to serve eight months) due to a gun charge in New York. While I respect the man for his talent as a rapper and as a brand but some of the decisions he has made away from the state or studio has been not so good in my opinion. Hopefully this time will allow him to take some self inventory and come back a better rapper/person. At the end of the day celebrities are role models whether they like it or not, it comes with the territory.

Details are not known about his death but it comes as a stunner to his bandmates and the whole Irish community. Boyzone was created by manager Louis Walsh who saw the success of the British boy group Take That and wanted to do the same thing with Irish boys. Gatley made headlines in 1999 when he came out of the closet and admitted that he was gay when prior to that rumors had been swirling around for years during Boyzone's heyday. They were in the midst of a comeback tour and for pop music fans around the world it is a sad lost. R.I.P. Stephen Gately.

When Did Keepin' It Real Go Wrong?

That's a simple question which can be answered in many ways. This question is related to the current state of the music industry and how "real" music is being pushed into the background by music that is deemed by the powers that be as commercially viable. I think once non music people started to come into the picture that is when I think keepin' it real got pushed further down the totem pole thanks to protecting that bottom line. If you have an opinion on this e-mail it to me at the address above.
