New forms of social media has now opened up opportunities for everyone to have their 15 mins of fame and become the new Walter Cronkite. From websites like Myspace, Twitter,etc how we get news has changed from the golden days where everyone had to gather around the tv set and watch the local/national news. The one downside about the new form of social media is that the skill of basic journalism has been lost. But it also gives new opportunities for those who wouldn't have a voice otherwise.
